KEATS – POESIA

John Keats is an important poet of the British romanticism, contemporary of Shelley and Lord Byron. ‘Ode on a grecian urn’ contains scenes of violence and life. The studies about this poetry almost always emphasize the esthetic value of this singular piece. Beauty and truth, close to each other, the same thing. ‘La belle dame sans merci’ was at the same time Fanny Brawne (the poet’s beloved), tuberculosis (which caused Keats’ death) and the white goddess of poetry. The title is an allusion to a medieval poem.
